Born in Singapore, living in London. Simon Wheatley began to take photography seriously while living in Budapest in the mid-1990s. In recent years he has focussed on marginalized urban areas, with a particular interest in the issues around regeneration and youth.He has also spent considerable time in Amsterdam where he has photographed the 'liberal' era drawing to an end.
In 2005 he became a nominee member of the renown photo agency Magnum Photos.

PHOTOSHOP PRACTICE: CELL PHONE

It was a homework about practicing using the software again. I think those days we had too much project to do and I didn't sleep well, so I didn't pay much attention to do this work. I drew the cell phone that I am using now, but I drew it too small.
It will be another homework of computer drawing two weeks later, I am really tired of doing these works but I hope I will pay more attention of it.

2007 YOUNG DESIGNER'S EXHIBITION

There was a teenagers' design exhibition on 5/17~20 in Taipei World Center. It was an exhibition of students who studied design. Our department also join this exhibition.There were no first grade student's work been to the exibition before, but this year there are 3 projects had been choosen to this exhibition of our class!

PHOTOSHOP PRACTICE: MP3

We had a homework on computer drawing class that we have to draw a mp3 by "Photoshop" . Actually I don't know a lot about how to use this software. During doing this homework, I know much about this software, but I still can't use it well. Teacher said that his mp3 I drew was "OK", but I think I didn't do well on this homework. I still have to do many many practices!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MY SCHOOL

Happy birthday, Chang Gung University! The big title "CGU 20" on the building cought every body's eyes. Chang Gung University is 20 years now, it is a young school! Actually the anniversary of our school is on April 21st. But I put the photos into my computer yesterday, so I write this article now.

In the morning, Many grandmas and grandpas came to visit our school from the Chang Gung health and culture village. We have to to take care of them, accompany them, and introduce our school for them. The grandpa and grandma I was responsible for are very nice. At first, I am a little nervous because that I didn't know if I can do this job well. But I tried to talk to them and then I found that they are easygoing. We talked about their jobs before, their families, and our interests. I think I was so lucky to have a acquaintanceship with them. and we had a good time.

In the afternoon, it was a singing competition. Our classmates, Howhow and Lyattomn, joined this competition. So we went back in front of the stage. They sang well. Though they didn't get any place, but they are still the best to us.

THE FIRST PROJECT ---finish

To finish a project isn't easy. First, we have to get many research and think about many ideas. Second, when we decide what to do, we have to make models and try if the idea can be put into practice. Then, finding many different materials is also an important stage. At last is to finish it.

I had tried many times of my product. During those weeks of making this project, I really didn't sleep much. Thanks god, it is so wonderful that the project was finished! But it also means that we will have a new project soon.

April 18 was the important day that we have the presentation of this project. Needless to say, most people of our class didn't sleep well on the early day. During the presentation, we saw the products of whole class. Many products were so gorgeous, everyone did good jobs!

ENGLISH WRITING CLASS MID-TERM

We took the mid-term of English Writing Class last week. We have to write a paragraph and a title about card slave in the mid-term.

Convenient or Not

Using a card is convenient, but not so good. When people go shopping, they can just bring a card, not money. By using cards, they often forget how mush they can afford. Then they buy more and more things until the bill is sent to their house. Unfortunately, some people don’t have money to pay the bill, so they will become” card slaves”. It’s not a good situation. People should use their cards more carefully and pay more attention on how much money they really have. By doing those, they can avoid becoming a card slave. If a person become a card slave, a card is not convenient to him anymore.

MY CLUB

In March 23, I went back to my senior high school. There was some activities were held by my club.

I had joined guitar club when I was in the senior high school. Our club is unlike many guitar clubs in other schools. We played the classical guitars. The kinds of music we played are not only those songs that people usually sings, but also those music that were written by Chopin, Beethoven, Mozart,..., or from many operas and musicals. There are vew teenagers played the classical guitar. Because there not so many young people have interesting in classical music, and the classical guitar is more difficult to learn then the other guitar.

We had performed in many differend places. For example, restaurants and a band shell. We even ever had been invited to a a radio station and had a live program! Though we are graduated from senior high school, but we still played guitar together once a week!

ILLUSTRATOR PRACTICING

This is one of our graphic design homework on April 4. We have to practiced using a software that named "Illustrator", and draw 40 patterns. It is just a small homework, but Illustrator is also a software that I had never used. I have apent much time to try how to use this software. By practicing drawing those patterns, I found that using this sofware is really fun!

On April 4, our teacher gave us a grade of this practicing homework. I got a high school. Besides, Eleano said that I must spent much time and really did a hard work. It is not a big bussiness but I feel so happy, beacause I seldom got a commendation from her. I will work hard sustainably at every project!

THE FIRST PROJECT ---stage2

The first two weeks we have to talk with Eleanor, our basic design and graphic design teacher, about the idea that what product we want to do. At first, I think about many ideas, like a cup, boxes, lamp,...ect. But the first time I discussed with Eleanor, she didn't like any of my idea. She wanted me to think a new one, too. It really made me feel very sad at that time, I even doubted about if I can learn Industrial Design well?

I still tried to think with diffrent opinion and think about many details, went to discusse with Eleanor again. The second time talk with she is smooth going. And Finally I choose the glasses box. Because when we buy glasses, we can also get a glasses box from the store. But the boxes there are always ugly. So I think of making a glasses box by the papper cutting pattern, it might be beauty. Then I make the papper model of my idea.

Those are the patterns that I want to use. They are birds that symbolize lucky and the coming of spring. The two patterns on the top will be put on the glasses, and the circle pattern will be cut on my box.

THE FIRST PROJECT ---stage1

The first project of basic design this semester is to choose a pattern of traditional papper cutting, turn it from 2D to 3D and make a new product. At the first stage, I had some research from websites and found some products that interested me. Actually those products don't have any chinese pattern, but they gave me some ideas about this project. Here are some pictures of those products that I like, and they are really can be bought im Taiwan.

Cuckoo Forest Clock

I think the shape of this clock is nice. It combine the traditional cuckoo clock's bird with trees and animals. If I have the clock in my room, I think I will be happy when I see it!

Lumen Oil Lamp

The shadow of the lamp really catch my eyes. I think it is a simple design but creats glamorous result!

The First Article

Hello! My name is Iris, and I'm 18 years old.
I study Industrial design in Chang Gung University, and I am in the first grade now.
It's a little difficult for me to study Design, because I haven't learned any thing about it.I don't have much money to buy many materials for my projects, either. At last, my parents want me to study medical and they often told me about not to study design.Even though, I want to try my best and see if I can do will on this area.
I had done Taekwondo in my childhood, it's one of my favorite sports. Besides, I had joined the guitar club in my senior high school, and I like to play the classical guitar. It is really a common and cheap instruments but can make beatiful sounds.
This is my new blog that will be writen by English. To me, English is an uneasy subject. Needless to say, writing articals by English is really a hard work to me. I wish I can keep writting and my English writting skiils can make great strides.
